This article outlines the standard rules for property type classification when adding them to your property feed type i.e. Buildium, PropertyWare, Appfolio, etc. It ensures consistency across listings and adherence to guidelines when syndicating through ShowingHero to third-party listing sites. Please follow these instructions carefully when categorizing properties.
Property Classifications
Apartment:
Properties with more than two units ("plex" or "unit") are classified as Apartments.
Default classification for any unknown property type.
Condominium:
Abbreviations are not accepted. Always use "Condominium" instead of "Condo."
Townhouse:
Always use "Townhouse" without variation.
Single-Family:
Always use "Single-Family" without variation.
Multi-Family:
Any version of "Multi-Family" other than "Apartment" should be classified as "Multi-Family."
Duplex:
Always use "Duplex" without variation.
Pet Policy
Yes: Cats and Dogs Allowed
No: No Cats, No Dogs
Allowed: Cats Allowed, Dogs Allowed
Negotiable: Cats Negotiable, Dogs Negotiable
Only Dogs: Dogs Allowed
Only Cats: Cats Allowed
Small Dogs: Small Dogs Only
